About the artist...

Well, this is me!

I have been a professional wildlife artist for the past eight years, having learnt my trade creating work and exhibiting successfully, alongside holding down the day job, during the ten years prior to that.

My wildlife art is largely painted in acrylic and I have work in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and America. I am currently producing a chapter on painting wildlife in an book called 'The Art of Painting in Acrylic' for a publisher in America.

I have had work selected for exhibition by David Shepherd (finalist, Wildlife Artist of the Year), the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Society of  Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, all at the Mall Galleries, London.

However, I also love working with more traditional techniques, including egg tempera and silverpoint. Sometimes these excursions into historic methods produce portraits of wildlife. Sometimes, with the addition of gold leaf and lettering, they result in work that is quite different! Scroll down to see my CV, with details of recent courses, qualifications and prizes.

I am largely self-taught. I have had a vast amount of help and advice from artist friends over the years for which I am truly grateful. In my turn, I'm always happy to pass on what I have learnt, especially to those just beginning to discover the wonderful word of paint - do have a look at the tuition page if you'd like more details.
