About the artist...
Well, this is me!
I'm primarily a wildlife artist. I paint in acrylic and have work held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and America. I have exhibited at the British Birdwatching Fair for the past six years alongside some of the best bird artists in the world and was a finalist in the international David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition 2012. My first miniature painting was accepted for exhibition by the Royal Society of Minature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers in the same year.
However, I also love working with gold leaf and have some ideas about combining this with calligraphy and illustration - watch this space!
I draw the occasional portrait and I have been delighted to have these accepted for exhibition with the Society of Women Artists at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. You can see some of these under 'People' if you're interested.
I am largely self-taught. I have had a vast amount of help and advice from artist friends over the years which has been invaluable and I am truly grateful.
I've been happily married for lots of years and have two wonderful girls aged 21 and 23. Lizzie has a degree in Fine Art and is a freelance costume and prop maker who also runs workshops for children in music and craft. Emma has a degree in Drama Studies and is the pastry chef at the Petwood Hotel, Lincolnshire - she is thrilled to have a job that allows her to bake all day.
